Emanuel C. Perlman, lyric tenor, composer, lecturer, recording artist, civic leader and clergyman is in his 20th year as the Senior Cantor at the 146 year old Chizuk Amuno Congregation in Baltimore, Maryland. 

"Manny" has concertized throughout the United States and Europe. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Voice from Rhode Island College and a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Social Work from the Wurzweiller School of Social Work, Yeshiva University. He received a Doctorate in Music, honoris causa, from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. 

Emanuel comes from a long lineage of cantors, which include his father of blessed memory, three brothers and three cousins. He is currently in his 20th year at the historic ChizukAmuno Congregation in Baltimore, Maryland.

"Manny" has lectured and performed twice at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He has performed twice throughout Cuba and premiered an original show entitled “A Life of Coincidences” at the Players Club in New York City. "Manny" has performed at the Capitol Rotunda and the Arlington National Cemetery with the United States Marine Band and in a holiday concert with the United States Naval Academy Band. He has concertized at the Mormon Tabernacle in Bethesda, Maryland and in Salt Lake City, Utah. He recently presented a program at Windsor Castle for the International Council for Caring Communities retreat and sang at the United Nations. Manny has four recordings Father and Son/Generations, Face to Face, Spiritual Ambrosia (Arabesque) and Destination Peace (Cala).

"Manny" was presented with his community’s "Volunteer of the Year Award" in 2010. 

He premiered an original composition with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 2004. 

With John Kiehl, co-founder and co-owner of the Academy/Grammy Award winning SoundTrackStudios and eminent voice pedagogue, Professor William Riley (Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, etc.), he is an app conceptualizer and developer. Together they also facilitate The Construct Institute (TCI). Members of the TCI include actor Richard Dreyfuss, Don Beck (Spiral Dynamics) and singer, Peter Yarrow. 

In addition to his civic, musical and cantorial activities, he has been a psychiatric social worker, field instructor, social work supervisor and team coordinator at the Long Island Jewish Hillside Hospital in Queens, N.Y.  He has been married to Janice Jotkowitz for over 40 years. They are the proud parents of Steven, (Deborah), Benjamin, (Bethany), and Marc. They are the proud grandparents of Abner, Muriel and Maximilian. 

Manny is currently scheduling a world wide tour to promote peace entitled Destination Peace.
